Effective Visual Science Communication
This mini-course will dive into visual perception and design principles, and how to effectively communicate your research through poster and Powerpoint presentations. This mini-course will meet on March 4, 6 and 11th. Each of the three 90-minute sessions will be a workshop dedicated to the following concepts:
- Session 1: Effective Visual Communication: 3/4, 4:30-6pm
- Session 2: Effective Poster Presentations: 3/6: 4:30-6pm
- Session 3: Effective Powerpoint Presentations: 3/11, 2:00-3:30pm
Registrants are expected to attend all sessions of the mini-course and will be provided with the opportunity to receive feedback on their poster or a slide of their choosing.
Registration is limited to 40. To participate, you must be a current UChicago STEM PhD student, Teaching Fellow, or Postdoc.

Amy Hark, PhD,
Director, STEM Graduate Career Development and Postdoctoral Affairs, UChicagoGRAD
Dr. Hark is a dedicated career advisor for STEM PhD students and postdocs. She received her Ph.D. from Northwestern University in Neuroscience where she studied sex differences in learning and memory. Prior to joining the UChicagoGRAD team, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher investigating decision-making.
