Samantha Rubeck, PhD
Science & Technology Leadership Program Professional, Owens Corning
Samantha Rubeck received her Ph.D. and M.S. in Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign where she studied electronic collective excitations in strongly correlated materials using low energy momentum-resolved inelastic electron scattering (M-EELS). While at the University of Illinois, Samantha held numerous leadership roles within the local chapter of the Graduate Society of Women Engineers, spearheaded new initiates to implement allyship programs for graduate students in STEM, and participated in the Owens Corning Science & Technology Internship Program. Most recently, Samantha joined Owens Corning full-time as part of the Science and Technology Leadership Program where she has held roles in both product and process development.
Sasha Padilla-Coley, PhD
Staff Engineer, BD
Dr. Sasha Padilla-Coley joined BD in 2021 as a Technology Leadership Development Program (TLDP) Associate. Prior to coming to BD, Sasha completed her doctorate in Biochemistry at the University of Notre Dame generating novel supramolecular method research findings with applications in drug delivery and disease diagnostics. In their first rotation at BD, Sasha served as an NPD Project Manager in Specimen Management in Franklin Lakes, NJ. Currently, Sasha is a Staff Engineer in the User Experience Design (UXD) Center of Excellence in San Diego, CA, where she helps support user-centric design across the company for BD products. Sasha is a team-oriented leader with a passion for program management, accessibility of healthcare, and outreach mentoring.
Courtney Burrows, PhD
Associate Director of HCP Marketing, US Dermatology, AbbVie
Dr. Burrows completed the Commercial Leadership Program at AbbVie and is currently an Associate Director on the SKYRIZI brand professional marketing team. During her 6 years at AbbVie, she has had marketing and commercial experience on multiple brands including VENCLEXTA, HUMIRA, SKYRIZI, DUOPA, VRAYLAR, and ORIAHNN. She received her PhD from the University of Chicago in Human Genetics and went on to get her MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. During her PhD, she was a Chicago Innovation Mentors fellow, president of the UChicago Biotechnology Association, Innovation Fund Associate, and helped create the myCHOICE program. During her MBA she co-founded a women’s health company, 4Women, that placed fifth in the New Venture Challenge and first in the Forté Power Pitch Competition.
