Saundra Schlesinger, PhD

Postdoctoral Researcher, Juntendo University, Tokyo, Japan

Saundra Schlesinger and her husband are Americans living in Tokyo with their infant son and pet snake. Saundra received her PhD in Developmental Biology from Oregon Health & Science University, during which she studied tendon development. In 2021, she and her husband moved to Japan and shortly after Saundra began a postdoc at Meiji University, continuing her research theme studying muscle-tendon coordinated development. Recently, she began a new postdoctoral research position at Juntendo University, moving away from development and now working on direct genetic reprogramming for treating diabetes.
