Effective Research Presentations
This mini-course will dive into how to effectively communicate your research through poster and Powerpoint presentations. This mini-course will meet on March 3rd and 4th. Each of the two 90-minute sessions will be a workshop dedicated to the following concepts:
- Session 1: Effective Poster Presentations: 3/3
- Session 2: Effective PowerPoint Presentations: 3/4
Registrants are expected to attend both sessions of the mini-course and will be provided with the opportunity to receive feedback on their poster or a slide of their choosing. Participants are also encouraged to register to attend the UChicagoGRAD “Effective Visual Communication for Research” workshop on February 25th, 1:00 PM – 2:15 PM, to learn how to effectively and transparently incorporate visual elements, such as charts, tables, and images, into your research presentations or posters.
Registration is limited to 40. To participate, you must be a current UChicago STEM PhD student, Teaching Fellow, or Postdoc.

Instructor
Elahe Ganji, Ph.D.
Associate Director, STEM PhD and Postdoctoral Career Education

Dr. Ganji is a STEM PhD and postdoctoral career advisor at UChicagoGRAD. She earned her PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware. Before joining the University of Chicago, Elahe was a Beckman Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Illinois, working on the structural and functional adaptation of the skeleton to activity and disease.
